Premier Design Jewelry Fundraiser

NIAGS invites you to a wonderful opportunity to support our permanent guardianship initiative that services Lake and Porter County. Imagine someone you knew that didn't have anyone to make decisions for them, protect their assets or just care. Well NIAGS is doing it in your area. Our volunteers for our organization are invaluable……and this fundraiser is for them! NIAGS will be hosting a Premier Design Jewelry fundraiser, with 25% of the proceeds going to the organization. What an awesome contribution! Thank You Tracy Pohlmann! So come out to the event and have fun with looking and purchasing jewelry that ultimately supports a worthy cause. We will have light food and a presentation about the organization so that you can understand who you’re supporting!

A Tremendous Victory: Just-Released State Budget

For those of you who may not have heard: CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! A $500,000 annual appropriation for the volunteer guardian programs and adult guardianship registry, and the $180,000 per year to establish the Office of Adult Guardianship in the Supreme Court budget was included in the just-released state budget. This is a tremendous victory for the vulnerable adults of our state.

WE HAVE DONE IT!

On behalf of NIAGS and the 30 clients we serve, we thank you all for the letters, emails, calls, and advocacy that you all have contributed to our cause.

Our future was uncertain, but we were determined to show the state that we were serious about our cause and the people we represent. We now have the security to not only continue our program but to (hopefully) expand our services to allow NIAGS to provide additional services to individuals on our waiting list.

We are truly grateful to you all. To Jim, Becky, Judge Schneider, the rest of the State Task Force and its supporters, we cannot thank you enough.

We are small, but we are mighty. As Margaret Meade once said, "Never underestimate the power of a few committed people to change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
