About Us
Vision:
The overall quality of life of incapacitated adults in the
Northwest Indiana Region will be significantly improved by
the provision of quality guardianship services.
Mission:
The Northwest Indiana Adult Guardianship Services, Inc.
exists to provide guardianship services for incapacitated
adults residing in Northwest Indiana. we believe that
the volunteer guardians, attorneys and professional staff of
the organization can effectively serve as advocates and
guardians when such services are not available from other
willing, capable or suitable relatives or other concerned
persons. It is the goal of the organization that the
services it provides will be administrated in the least
restrictive manner and with the most respect for the value
of all individuals of the community.
Target
Population
Northwest Indiana Adult Guardianship Services, Inc., serves
as a court-appointed guardian for any individual who is:

18
years of age or older
-
a
resident of Northwest Indiana (Lake, Porter, LaPorte,
Jasper, Starke, Pulaski, Newton Counties)
-
determined by an Indiana licensed physician to be
incapacitated due to medical, mental developmental or
physical condition; and
-
referred by a service provider as in need of a
guardian to act on his or her behalf or
-
adjudicated to be incapacitated by a Northwest Indiana
Court with probate jurisdiction.
